i have my iphoneunlock (with chips) 3g and im using it in jakarta, again, the internet wont work, but still can use it as regular phone and sending text message too. sine im here just for vacation ill put back my att sim card when im back to the u.s. then the internet will work again with 3g

I just want to ask some questions about iphone in Indonesia:
-The distributed Iphone in Indonesia is the legal or the illegal one?
-Some people in Indonesia can use that iphone, do you know what did they do to get that iphone?
-Can the first iphone (not the 3G one) be used in Indonesia?
-Is this site an official one?

Don't you think about a person who have first nokia e90???
they're from Indonesia!!! with (+/-) Rp 40.000.000,- ,it's about $4000 maybe, so far from Apple iPhone 3G that have a price: $199!
Nokia have a priority Indonesia after their country!!!

Don't Apple think the same way?

I hope so, If iPhone really come to us, it will be a great decision by Apple :) (I really want this phone, really). But there is no official press release yet. I'm waiting for that. :)

Check out your itunes store guys...
They (Apple) finally acknowledge your country... (Coz as far as I know and up until several days ago, as I know, Apple don't give Indonesia an itunes store.
There's now an appstore for Indonesia in iTunes.
So, could that mean that iPhone 3G is coming? Or is it just for the iPod touch (Damn Apple! Their TEAC disc drive was made in Indonesia for God sake! And I have prove of that!)

Looking forward to hear any more news on this.

3G iPhone is "not" available in Indonesia (laughing.....) Come On !!
"Not Yet" is more like it.

Available in Singapore (SingTel) but not Indonesia, where did they think Singapore biggest consumer from?

Indonesia are the number three biggest consumer electronic for mobile, computing and other types of electronic after Japan and Hongkong. (Correct me if I'm wrong :)

Indonesia also have Giant operator company such as Indosat, XL, Telkomsel (state owned 50% share, SingTel 35% share), Three, etc which provide all kind of services including data plan/voice plan/etc.

So, 3G iPhone "should be" available in Indonesia. Even though still lacks of features No Video Recording, No MMS, No Voice Dialing, No User replaceable batteries, No Card Slot, No Stereo Bluetooth, No simple Copy & Paste function (huh...?). People are still camped out and waiting in line just to get their hand on the new 3GiPhone.

But hey, that's only my opinion. I'm confidence iPhone will be available in Indonesia later this year or perhaps next year :sad:

padahal pangsa pasarnya lebih besar lagi..
orang indonesia kan terkenal dengan komsutifnya...

padahal dah nunggu-nunggu ni iphone sampe-sampe gak jadi beli N95 8gb..

what are you, stupid? In Indonesia, there is prepaid and postpaid cellular service. Most if not all operators offer both services, some even offer plans/packages/caps.

The main reason iPhone is not available in Indonesia is because the market for that kind of phone is too small.

the reason why iphone did not come to Indonesia... its because you guys did not use contract service with your operator right?? you just buy the phone outright and choose operaor you want

example like: - telkomsel, - XL, -mentari, ETC and you buy a voucher for filling your credit right?

so thats why you guys hard to get iphone
